The Ogham Alphabet
|
| |
| |
|
The Ogham Alphabet is sometimes called the Celtic Tree Alphabet. It was an alphabet used primarily to represent Gaelic languages from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Ogham characters may be represented in several different ways, usually vertically or horizontally and occasionally the vowels may appear as dots instead of bars. However the symbols are displayed, a sentence will always begin with the EITE (feather) symbol and end with the EITE THUATHAIL (reversed feather) symbol, spaces between words are shown by the SPAS (space) symbol.
